CW: Death and dying

Play as Gerasim, the kind servant of Ivan Ilyich, during the last week of Ivan's life. 

Bring Ivan's chamber pot out to the cesspool thrice daily, but keep your distance from Praskovya Fyodorovna Golovina and Mikhail Danilovitch! Both of them are trying their best to distract themselves from the reality of mortality, and the aroma of the chamber pot will surely frustrate these efforts. 

Can you complete 100% of the necessary disposals while maintaining proper decorum? Watch out, because Mikhail and Praskovya Fyodorovna will move at a quicker pace as the days pass...

GeraSim can be played with a keyboard or a mobile touch screen. Move around with the d-pad (WASD or the arrow keys for keyboard users); use the A button (Z key for keyboard users) to advance through dialogue and interact with Gerasim's environment. Press Start (Enter for keyboard users) to pause the game and view your current score.

This game was designed and developed by Benny Mattis for the BookBound Game Jam of 2023. It is based on "The Death of Ivan Ilyich," a short story by Leo Tolstoy. It was created with GB Studio and Pixelorama.
